Slothful Escape

I was running from a zombie horde and the only vehicle available was a Prius! I got in and turned the key, which had magically appeared in the ignition. I put the gear in drive and slammed my foot on the gas pedal, but it took off slowly as if someone were pushing it! After a few moments, the car began to move slightly. I heard a crash from behind; the zombies busted the glass on the hatchback and were beginning to enter the vehicle. The acceleration was so slow, that one could run faster on foot. Before they could get me, I awoke.
